THE neighborhood FARM: A Community Garden
Saturday, February 20 from 9:30 AM to noon, we are hosting an Open House for the Community Garden. The preparation phase has begun with soil amendments and a cover crop. In early Spring, we will lay out the plots and install the irrigation. If you’re interested, come by and see the garden. For a modest fee to help defray costs, you can have your “own” organic garden and share your abundance with the NOAH food pantry.
Facelift for the Holy Family Grounds
With the help of a group of students from the Sustainable Landscape Certificate Program at SSU, we’re planning a renovation of the grounds at Holy Family. The goal is a landscape that is beautiful, sustainable, and drought resistant.
We’ve got a really good start on the grounds. We laid down mulch, covered with cardboard, covered with chips. The view from the street has definitely improved. Check it out on the photos page.
